Some of our personnel are the sixth generation of their family to follow this vocation, something that is perhaps unique in this day and age.
This personal ethos is reflected in our staff training, which has produced experienced but sympathetic individuals who empathise with the bereaved, yet provide the best professional and financial guidance at an emotional and vulnerable time.
Whether we are encouraging personal development, introducing new concepts, or altering procedures, at FSNI we always ask ourselves - what real benefits does each element of our service offer those we work with?
We also educate our staff to understand bereavement and grieving more fully, so they are able to help most effectively.
As a result:
- We are helpful and understanding with the bereaved, being sensitive to their need for support, trust and confidentiality.
- We provide choice and guidance without exerting influence and listen to people before, during and after their time of grief.
- When required, we recognise and follow-up any outstanding issues that helps the bereaved with their grieving.
